I don't know this ...Thank you for posting this. I don't know this part of Aquinas so am in your debt. Would this not lead to an infinity of mourning (if God is infinite)? The beatitude in Matthew concludes "for they shall be comforted." How does Aquinas get us to that point? There seems no parallel in Luke's version, except "Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh."
